“B B & C” is short for “Bridge Bear and Cloak” or

A Hand of BRIDGE by Barber, The BEAR by Walton &Il tabarro (The CLOAK) by Puccini.

Two comedies and a tragedy with an Italian/ British/American link.

A Hand of Bridge was written in English by an American and premiered in Italy.

The Bear was written in English by an Englishman who lived most of his life in Italy.

Il tabarro was written in Italian by an Italian and premiered in the New York Met. We sing it in English translation.

Donna Bateman was our gorgeous Pamina in last year’s Magic Flute – a real find.

Annette Stein sang in Opera Minima’s very first show back in 2000.

Susan Moore has taken part in numerous shows during the past ten years and directed our ‘life-affirming’ Magic Flute.

Joe Morgan first sang for us in Trial by Jury and since has appeared in Quartets and Magic Flute.

Stephen John Svanholm delighted all with his ‘rich, luscious voice that moves easily and gloriously at speed’ in “Quartets”.

Adam Leftwich has sung for us in many shows since 2000. Last month Mel and I saw him as Crespel in Tales of Hoffmann in the Czech Republic - see the picture.

Robin Green is the newest member of the team. He took part in our New Year social evening last February.
