"HMS Pinafore School Workshops"

HMS Pinafore School Workshops

Three days of workshops, devised and led by Susan Moore, in each school, culminating in a public performance of a reduced "HMS Pinafore" with students in small roles and chorus working alongside Opera Minima professionals.

"Hansel and Gretel"

Hansel and Gretel

School workshops and performances of part of the Opera Minima production.


Directed by Susan Moore with music direction by James Gilbert, three of the OCF cast worked alongside the students, who had "the experience of a lifetime" and "learnt what it will be like to be famous".


Throughout November 2008, workshops were held in in three local schools, culminating in performances for friends and family.


Uppingham Community College, Bringhurst Primary School, Great Easton and Kingswood Performing Arts College, Corby.

"Several Sinful Scenes"

Several Sinful Scenes

A series of workshops and rehearsals culminating in a public performance of this new opera revue devised by Susan Moore.


Directed by our Workshop Leader, Susan Moore, with Music Director James Gilbert, OM professional singers work alongside the students, who take small roles and chorus.


The picture shows students of Kingswood School, Corby.


These workshop sessions explored how the seven deadly sins are interpreted in operatic settings.


The final performance took place in front of friends, parents and teachersy, rehearsing.

"What a Trial!"

What a Trial!

Join Opera Minima professionals in a series of music sessions and workshops based on Trial by Jury by Gilbert and Sullivan.
Thanks to a generous Grassroots grant, we are able to offer these workshops for only £5 to anyone who wants to learn about what it takes to sing opera.
No previous experience needed.

Pianist ~ Caroline Trutz, who will teach you the music and accompany the workshops


OM singers ~ soprano Susan Jiwey, tenor Patrick Ashcroft, baritone James Gilbert.


Sue, aided by Susan, Patrick and James, will show you how to act, walk, breathe, speak (you thought you knew?) all at the same time as singing. You will rehearse Sue's specially written, and much reduced, version of Trial by Jury and give a performance for your friends and family
